2005 | Bill of Rights of the Interim Constitution of South Sudan
The Interim Constitution of Southern Sudan, drafted by the Sudan Peoples Liberation Movement/Army (SPLM/A) during the civil war, contains a Bill of Rights (page 9-20). Of particular interest for our project are the right to life and human dignity (Art. 30), the right to liberty and security of persons (Art. 31), equality before the law (Art. 33), equal rights for men and women (Art. 34) and equal access to public health care (Art. 48). But, more importantly, the Bill of rights contains a specific Article on the rights of women (Art. 55).
